Lt. Gov. Dan Forest, who is running against Gov. Roy Cooper to become the state’s chief executive in November, landed an official endorsement from President Donald Trump last week.
Lt. Gov. Forest also announced he has accepted two invitations from N.C. media outlets to debate Cooper ahead of November’s election, from Spectrum News and CBS 17.
“North Carolinians deserve to hear their candidates for Governor debate the important issues of our state,” campaign spokesman Andrew Dunn said. “Voters have a clear choice in November, and we look forward to outlining our vision for North Carolina and how we will get our state back on track.”
